Resumo
E-commerce boosted demand for air freight, leading one of the largest e-commerce companies in Brazil to partner with national airlines to operate exclusive cargo planes. This paper analyzes the growth of e-commerce and its impact on the air cargo market, aiming at more efficient planning and to identify air cargo and e-commerce correlation.. Using Linear Regression and data from the National Civil Aviation Agency and Neotrust, it was identified that mailbags, exchange rates, current monthly GDP, and Covid-19 cases are important factors to predict air cargo. Demand for air cargo is being driven by the growth of e-commerce, which requires airlines and airports to adapt. Considering the atypical behavior of the market due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to further investigate these factors, as well as the products registered as postal mail and specific regions.
